The Wonderful Future...

I've just been offered a job at a well respected Jewellers in Guiseley. Lord Harewood (Harewood House) has been served at this small shop. It's a well grounded business, and I'll be happy there. It opens a lot of doors for me, and they offer education and training. I could become the manager of any jewellers after doing a few years here. It'll mean packing in this years college courses and my job at TESCO, but I believe it'll be worth it and I believe it's the next step to take in my life. I'm happy about the whole thing and I've already worked there from time to time. I like the staff and the customers, and the atmosphere there is very friendly. So yeah, I'm 24 years old, and I'm going to be a jeweller. Sounds good to me.

A bit fed up

Yeah, I've still got a lot on my plate. I've been ripped off about £200 on stuff
I have 3 physics exams tomorrow
and I haven't hat a haircut for over three months. I'm growing it out a bit but it's just growing outwards so I've got a bit of an afro. Perhaps I'll just leave it for a year.

It's not depression. It's just a bit sad. Sad that I'm a poor student, and getting ripped off by everybody. Oh well. That's life I suppose. Down's as well as up's.

I'll be happy once I'm in donnington with my brother tomorrow.

DONNINGTON DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 2006

Well, I'll have to change the settings on my home computer somehow so I can start blogging again. I'm currently using the college computers, which I probably should do more often.

This has been a difficult few weeks, with people suffering all kinds of stress from exams and other influences. It's put quite a few people on the edge, and friendships have suffered and torn a fair bit, but they're not beyond repair.

I've had a lot going on too. A total of 11 exams with six still left. Marriages happening left, right and centre. Family stuff and of course the approaching download festival. Yes, I'm going to be seeing quite a few live bands including Metallica, Korn and Trivium. There have been countless problems with the tickets though, and although I was only deciding to go for the Saturday, I might end up seeing the whole weekend. Who knows?

It's nice to see a fair few of my friends have been actively blogging again though. Especially Andy Munzer, and lets hope we keep it up this time. Must be off now, but here's a quick thought from Tommy Cooper, "I went shopping for souvenirs. I got hold of a Chinese backscratcher, but my wife wouldn't let me take her home. When I did get back from Hong Kong, I wrote a poem. It was in Chinese, but I could never translate it."

Between entries...

Ok, I've got stuff to write, and I'll do it later... Just want to say how excited and happy I am that I might finally be leaving the Hell that is morrisons soon. Everybody pray that my applications elsewhere go well!

Fun with friends

How fantastic is it to meet somebody who you connect with really quickly and get along with really well? Andrew Munzers wedding has been and gone and now he's on his honeymoon. It was an incredible event and while there with my friends James and Hayden, I met Lindsey too (pictured). Well, we all got to hang out yesterday and had loads of fun. Amongst other things there was a drive past the harry potter railway line in north yorkshire, a visit to the big white horse on the side of the hill, and a trip to whitby too. Despite smashing up my ankle (though it's not broken) We had a really good time and sometimes time is just needed to relax with friends too, so a roadtrip and a few picturesque areas was greatly appreciated. What an amazing day with just the right weather for the whole thing too.

Back from the dead

I'm back with another nice picture for you to see. It's my funky brother Sandy, all dressed up to show off his killer guitar skills.

Well, it's been a long tine since I posted anything, but then I realised, "Hey, forget parental controls messing things up for me at home, I can use the computers at college to blog, and so I am. A lot has happened since I last commented about anything on here, and so I won't go into too much detail about anything. I'll sum up though:

-Andrew Munzer is getting married in just over a month

-I am still working in Hell, or 'Morrisons' for those who don't know where it is

-I'm doing my best to change institute because it's lame this year, and people just don't care about each other as much any more

-I'm feeling pretty good about life, the universe and everything at the moment.

-I'm liking a particular young lady at institute and she's lovely, but is difficult, because she always puts up loads of barriers whenever anybody gets close

-I'm dead impressed with Ashley for being so good at blogging and telling everybody about life.

As for other things, I wonder if the three muskateers will ever get together again, or if they were permenantly disbanded when Andy went to Bristol. I'll also try to blog more often, and be a better 'me' than I have been. Hope Everyone is glad I did this. Chris.

INSTITUTE FUN!!!

Well, since institute started again, and I haven't been working full time nights, I've been able to get into the social side of things again, and I really love it! Theres been much fun, including a chocolate cake party, putting on daft wigs and much more. It's nice to be able to do things with friends and meet them each week for institute too. Grateful for all of my friends, whether you live close or not!

PLEASE WORK, PLEASE WORK, PLEASE WORK...

Some of you know my computer hasn't been on top form lately, which means I haven't been able to blog. I'm hoping this time will work though. PLEASE!!!

I was reading a book yesterday, 'The Truth' by Terry Pratchett. It's hilarious and fun to read, and I'm really enjoying it. I came across a paragraph yesterday that I thought especially good though:

"Just for a moment there was an unusual feeling of bliss. Strange Word, he thought. It's one of those words that doesn't make a noise but if it did make a noise would sound just like that. Bliss. It's like the sound of a soft meringue melting gently on a warm plate."

Three weeks gone, lots went on

Well, what a time I've had, and despite being extremely busy, I haven't been writing because I've been focused on other things.

Recently, apart from the convention, I went on a day trip with my family to Brimam Rocks and had great fun traversing the difficult terrain. I really like climbing and walking, but we also went berry picking too. Then there was a torrential downfall of rain, but having an alert dad helped us get back to the car just before the heavens opened.

I went travelling too and saw my good friend Andrew, and spent some time with him and his new friends in Bristol before heading off to Birmingham. Around the areas surrounding Birmingham I visited the lands of my mission. It was amazing to meet up with my mission president and go on exchanges with missionaries I served with. It was great to visit a ward I served in for Sundays church meetings too! I had an incredible experience in one area where rather than visit the people who fed me most or the 'strong families' I went to visit the weak and simple members who were in hospital and suchlike. It felt really good to do a simple act of service like that.

Now I've gone back to college. A lack of desire to work while I was young took its toll on my results at the time. I saw wisdom in going back to study A-levels, so I can get a good university degree afterwards, and be able to support a wife and family. So for the next couple of years, its Physics, Chemistry, Maths and I.T. for me. I'm excited, happy, and I love learning. Fantastic!

Manchester convention - some photos
